Price: £3,750 | 5-Year Guarantee

A beautifully presented Grotrian-Steinweg 120cm upright piano, manufactured in Germany circa 1930 and featuring an elegant rosewood cabinet professionally refinished in polyester.

This distinguished German upright combines traditional piano-making craftsmanship with the character of a historic instrument. It has also been restrung with Roslau strings and fitted with Klinke tuning pins, providing a renewed and dependable foundation for continued musical use.

Traditional German Piano Craftsmanship

Grotrian-Steinweg is one of Germany’s most respected piano manufacturers, with a piano-making heritage dating back to 1835 in Braunschweig.

This particular instrument reflects the craftsmanship and engineering associated with German piano making during the early twentieth century. At 120cm in height, it offers the presence and musical potential of a substantial upright while remaining suitable for a wide range of homes, music rooms and interiors.

Beautifully Refinished Rosewood Cabinet

One of the piano’s most distinctive features is its attractive rosewood cabinet, which has been professionally refinished in polyester.

The refinishing has renewed the appearance of the case while providing a durable, polished surface that complements the piano’s traditional styling. Its warm rosewood finish makes it an appealing alternative to the black cabinets commonly found on modern upright pianos.

For buyers seeking a period instrument with visual character as well as German heritage, this Grotrian-Steinweg offers a particularly attractive combination.

Restrung with Klinke Tuning Pins and Roslau Strings

The piano has been restrung using Roslau strings and fitted with Klinke tuning pins.

This work provides renewed stringing and a secure tuning foundation, helping the instrument to remain stable and reliable in regular use while preserving its individual musical character.

Together with the professionally refinished cabinet, the restringing represents a significant investment in the piano’s condition and future usability.

A Characterful German Upright Piano

Grotrian-Steinweg pianos have long been appreciated for their craftsmanship, construction and musical qualities.

This circa 1930 upright offers the opportunity to own a genuine German piano from a distinguished manufacturer, with the added benefits of a professionally refinished rosewood cabinet, renewed stringing and Klinke tuning pins.

It would suit buyers looking for a traditional upright with period character, an attractive cabinet and a strong German pedigree. It could make a rewarding addition to a home, music room or teaching environment.
